Steps to Integrate with MoMo

1. Sandbox Testing

All partners are required to begin integration by performing thorough testing in our sandbox environment available at momodeveloper.mtn.com. This environment simulates MoMo's live APIs and allows developers to validate functionalities, perform mock transactions, and ensure compatibility before moving to production.

2. Contractual Information Submission & Drafting

To proceed with contract drafting, partners must submit detailed business information. This enables our legal and compliance teams to prepare the appropriate agreements. The following details should be collected via a dedicated form or onboarding section:

  • Entity Type (e.g., Bank, Fintech, Microfinance Institution, Domestic Company)

  • Brief Description of Your Business

  • Overview of the Product or Service Being Integrated

  • Clarification on whether you are offering your own solution or reselling/integrating a third-party service

  • Customer Channel Used (App, Web, USSD, etc.)

  • Entity & Hosting Location: Is your business based in Rwanda? Are your servers/applications hosted locally or abroad? (Specify location if not Rwanda)

  • User Journey Overview: Describe how customers will interact with your solution.

  • Primary Customer Support Contacts

This information is critical for ensuring that technical and legal requirements align with regulatory standards and service expectations.

3. Go-Live Migration

Once sandbox testing and contracting are complete, the integration proceeds to the production environment:

  • Live Wallet Creation: MoMo will facilitate the setup of your live wallet accounts.

  • Provision of Live Credentials: Secure production API credentials will be shared with your team to enable full system integration.
